Cookie Policy (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia)
You may not have thought about how websites use data to ensure that you receive digital advertisements that are of interest to you. In order to provide you with tailored advertisements, interested parties require the collection and processing of information. This typically includes information about the devices you use (e.g. laptops and mobile phones), your location and information derived from your browsing activities. This information is collected using cookies and other similar technologies, such as tags, pixels and device identifiers, which are placed on or collected from your device when you visit a website or access content via a mobile application.

This is the cookie policy for the RYOBI website (hereinafter referred to as this/our website). Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also enables us to improve our website and our services.

We hope that this policy helps you understand and feel more confident about our use of cookies.

We use the following cookies:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: these are cookies that are necessary for our website to function. These include, for example, cookies that allow you to access secure areas of our website, use shopping carts or electronic invoicing services.
Analytics/Performance Cookies: These allow us to recognise and count visitors and understand how visitors “move” around our website when using it. This helps us improve the way our website works, for example by ensuring that users can easily find what they are looking for. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymous.
Functional Cookies: These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This allows us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (such as your language or region choice).
Targeting Cookies: These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertisements displayed on it more relevant to your interests. For this purpose, we may also share this information with third parties (for example, our advertising partners).

We have set out the details of each type of cookie we use in the tables below. You can find more information about individual cookies by clicking on the underlined link.
Some cookies we use are activated each time you visit our website and are deleted when you close your browser. These are session (temporary) cookies. Other cookies (persistent cookies) have a longer lifespan (which varies for individual cookies) and will be stored on your device until their expiration date.
Please note that third parties may also use cookies over which we have no control. For example, Google will place a Google Analytics cookie on your device if you allow Google to do so. You can learn more about how Google uses Google Analytics cookies by clicking here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

We will not place (and will not allow third parties to place) analytics/performance cookies or functionality cookies on your device when you use our website unless you have told us that you do not mind us doing so. You can change your mind at any time by updating your preferences by clicking on the link in the footer of any page on our website. If you do change your mind and decide to reject some or all types of cookies, please note that we will not be able to remove all cookies that have already been placed on your device. You can remove cookies that have already been placed by using the settings of the browser in which you accessed our website. You can also block cookies by activating the setting in your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including strictly necessary cookies), you may not be able to access our website or parts of it.

Saudi Arabia – Distributor Model, Consent and Local Compliance

Scope. This Cookie Policy applies where this website, our cookie preference tool, local campaign pages, pixels, tags, device identifiers or similar tracking technologies are used for visitors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or for Saudi market activities.

Distributor responsibility. In Saudi Arabia, RYOBI operates through an authorised distributor, Khusheim Company for Industrial Equipment, with registration number 2050001717 and address, F44F+MCH, Khaleej Road, Ash Shati Ash Sharqi, Dammam 32413, Saudi Arabia rather than through its own local company. The distributor is responsible for the local market-facing collection and use of cookie-derived data, tracking pixels, tags, advertising identifiers and campaign data that it deploys, instructs or controls through its own websites, pages, platforms or advertising campaigns, including providing local notices and obtaining any required consent. Where RYOBI operates the global website or central cookie platform for its own purposes, RYOBI remains responsible for that processing, and the distributor must process any cookie-derived data it receives only as agreed with RYOBI and not for incompatible purposes.

Cookies, consent and preferences. Strictly necessary cookies may be used to provide the website or a service requested by the user. Non-essential analytics/performance, functionality, targeting, advertising, profiling or similar tracking technologies used for Saudi market activities must be configured to obtain prior, informed and freely given consent where required by applicable Saudi law. Consent records should identify the user preference, date and time, consent wording, website or campaign channel, cookie category and relevant advertising or analytics partners, and users should be able to withdraw or change their preferences easily.

Tracking, advertising and AI tools. The distributor must not add, change or activate advertising cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, retargeting tools, recommendation engines, AI-enabled advertising or measurement tools, or other third-party tracking technologies for Saudi market activities without RYOBI’s prior approval and appropriate notice. Advertising and analytics partners should be disclosed by category or name where practicable, and cookie-derived data should not be shared for interest-based advertising, retargeting, lookalike audience creation, profiling or automated decision-making unless the required notice, consent and contractual controls are in place.

Local digital compliance. Saudi market activities should be carried out in a manner consistent with applicable local requirements relating to e-commerce and consumer protection, electronic communications and telecommunications, advertising and marketing, cybercrime and cybersecurity, website content, platform compliance and online records. The distributor should ensure that local campaign pages, promotions, enquiry forms, warranty flows and any local purchase or after-sales channels provide clear information about the responsible entity, material terms, eligibility criteria, charges, delivery or service limitations and available support channels where relevant.
Cross-border transfers and recordkeeping. Cookie-derived personal data relating to Saudi users may be accessed by, or shared with, group companies, the distributor, technology providers, advertising partners and service providers outside Saudi Arabia. The distributor and any other party responsible for the transfer must ensure that such transfers are permitted under applicable Saudi law and supported by appropriate notices, consents where required, transfer assessments, contractual protections and data minimisation measures. Records of cookie preferences, partner approvals, campaign tags, transfer decisions and retention settings should be kept where relevant.

Security and retention. RYOBI, the distributor and relevant service providers will protect cookie-derived data using appropriate technical and organisational measures, including access controls, secure configuration of tags and pixels, restrictions on partner use, and procedures for responding to suspected incidents involving cookie or tracking data. Cookie-derived data should be retained only for the disclosed purposes and deleted, anonymised or aggregated when no longer needed, unless a longer period is required by law.

Notices and user rights. Saudi users should receive clear local notice explaining the cookie categories, purposes, partners, controller or distributor responsibility, cross-border transfers and how to manage preferences. Users may contact RYOBI, or the distributor where it controls the relevant local channel, to request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent, or to raise questions or complaints about cookie-derived data. RYOBI and the distributor will coordinate to respond to requests concerning Saudi market activities in accordance with applicable Saudi law. Further information about the processing of personal data is set out in the KSA Privacy Policy [https://ae.ryobitools.eu/footer-links-ar/privacy-statement-ksa/].
